Mail Washer
An invaluable front end for your email programmes to scan your emails for spam, large downloads, irrelevance etc, before they are downloaded. Invaluable for deciding whether to read emails via a slow (eg mobile phone) modem. Shareware.
- Go to the Mailwasher site and download the tutorial and the current MailWasher setup file (about 1.5 MB). You will need to print out the "setting up MailWasher" pages of the tutorial in order to set up access to your email accounts.
- Execute the downloaded .exe file and follow instructions to import automatically your email account settings. This will allow MailWasher to inspect email in the mailbox(es) of as many accounts as you have without opening the emails, but listing their titles, size and whether they could be spam. You can then decide whether to read the emails (with your normal email viewer), delete or bounce them back without reading them!
